Great historic Los Angeles venue. Over the years I've been to many events there, mainly concerts, and it is always a great experience. The interior decor and architectural design is a wonderful tribute to LA's not-so-distant, yet fabulous past. In total I have probably been to the Wiltern 10-15 times and have always had a great night out.
The Wiltern definitely holds on to its historic charm. Grand ceiling with intricate carving and details. Staircases for each level. Even the underground lounge is a blast from the past. A narrow curved staircase leading down to and open, wallpapered lounging area.
The part I didn't appreciate is the seating. I had floor seats and felt smashed in like sardines. You could not avoid touching the thighs or shoulders of people next to you.
The Wiltern is better than the Hollywood bowl I said what I said. THB has locals in a chokehold the same way in and out does but us transplants have a little more perspective.
I've seen Conan O'Brien here for the first Netflix comedy fest when the surprise guest was Bill hader and it was great.
One year later I Saw All Time Low which is one of my favorite bands for the 10th time after not seeing them for 10 years and I love what the venue did how they took out so many chairs so you could jump like you were in general admission where maybe tomorrow there would be chairs bolted in the floor
Literally across the street is an elementary train station which is great and everything so you don't even have to drive to the will turn but why on earth can we not have these buses or trains going I literally used up half my paycheck on a film set That wrapped at midnight so I could get back to Burbank before 3:00 a.m. I shoot you not
